As Lions, our mission of global service is at the heart of everything we do. For more than a decade, the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF has supported the humanitarian efforts of Lions in Canada and beyond.

Unfortunately, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has determined that the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF does not meet the requirements for charitable status in Canada. Consequently, effective March 16, 2026, the Canada Revenue Agency’s charitable registration for the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF will be terminated.

Impact on You:
 

• Tax Receipts: Any donation received by the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF on or before March 16 will qualify for an official charitable donation receipt.
   

• Future Donations: After March 16, donations will no longer qualify for an official charitable tax receipt.The “Donate” button on the Lions of Canada Fund for Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) website will redirect you to lionsclubs.org/donate, where you can make a donation to Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).

• Donations by check should be made payable to “Donations to LCIF” and mailed to the following address: P.O. Box 2425, Station “A,” Toronto, Ontario M5W 2K6.

Although your contributions are no longer eligible for a tax receipt in Canada, your continued support will help fund life-changing services that assist those most in need. Your clubs and districts will also remain eligible for LCIF grants and programs, as these remain unaffected. We encourage you to take full advantage of the grants and programs offered by LCIF to expand your humanitarian efforts.

The Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF will officially cease all operations on February 11, 2027. If you have any questions, please contact PID Arthur Woods, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF.
